Whenever I’m about to embark on a new piece of fiction, I’ll often look up references—either entire comics (or key scenes/pages), or fanart to get me in the mindset of specific characters and dynamics.

I’m currently working on a Dick/Tim, so I headed on over to this handy place to peruse and possibly reblog some inspiration.  As I went through pages, I opened things I was interested in in a background tab on my browser.

Halfway through, I looked up to realize I had opened almost twenty tabs.  I was like, ‘holy shit’.  And then I realized most of them were comic pages from Nightwing and Robin—because Dick and Tim have such fantastic, natural interaction that I just kept saying ‘yes, yes, and that one, and that one…’

It’s so nice to be reminded of all the reasons why I love these two.  Training. On patrol.  Being brothers.  They knew how to have fun and laugh while getting the job done.  I really missed that about them in later years.  

I guess I’m just feeling a little nostalgic for the Nightwing and Robin days.
