Bruce and Jason, huh? First off, I have a hardcore kink love for the, uh, age difference. And other stuff oh, for fuck’s sake, yes it’s the daddy thing, god.
Also, they’ve just always been portrayed as very affectionate. Not recently, of course, but originally. I remember honestly thinking they were together. In the gay community, it’s very common to have a large span of years between members of a couple; we don’t have the same hangups as the straight community seems to (although that is changing, and rapidly with this generation). So it seemed normal to me.
Jason made him smile. After all the shit with Dick. All the angst and the breaking up. Jason made him smile and laugh. He was the corniest little kid and I loved him. It was obvious he’d do anything for Bruce. Yeah, he had anger issues. So? Look at Bruce. You think he donned the cape and cowl because he spent all day thinking of his favourite things and watching musicals?
I can see nearly all the boys with each other. With Bruce. But I think Bruce and Jason are virtually perfect in their flaws.

Omg. I’ve been hitting refresh on my dash like GANGBUSTERS since you showed me this on MSN. omg omg omg omfg~ This is wonderful! I love the pose so much, the little booty-kick Jason’s got going on (Ha ha! Double entendre!). It’s so PLAYFUL and fun, while the lean in with both hands is just a bit possessive. Which, btw, is so so so perfect. Bruce’s expression is amazing, he’s like “Personal space, Jason” with that glower that just…isn’t working at all. R&D is a four part mini series that explores Jason’s backstory in Earth 81, specifically in regard to his relationship with different characters. I thought it was a fitting way to spend August, considering Jay’s birthday is the 16th. :)
Writing this almost destroyed me; I can’t possibly explain my love for this character. And with Bruce. It broke my heart in all the right places.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. I’d love to spread a little of the Bruce/Jason love around; I just don’t think they get enough of it.

Teal…everything about this is perfect. Fantastic. Lovely. Wonderful. I want to shower you with descriptive words, but I’m afraid it won’t even begin to touch on how much I adore this. Even though it’s my medium of choice, at times like this, words just aren’t enough to convey exactly how much I fanboyed over love this. But I’m stubborn, so I’m going to try anyway. ;)
The snow was such an unexpectedly beautiful element; it sets a lovely scene, makes it feel cold and acts as an excellent contrast to the warmth they’re generating between them. And the moment you’ve created is warm. It’s intimate and everything it should be—I don’t know if Jason’s kissing his cheek or whispering in his ear, but Bruce looks like he’s about to smile or laugh and it’s catching that almost-action that really makes me smile and melt and make very undignified noises. The very first thing that post-Crisis Jason Todd did for Bruce was make him laugh, and I feel like it’s a detail most forget. But you? You’ve captured that, and with it all my love for these two.
Your details, as always, are incredible. How pale they are accents the cold again (brings us back to that warmth) while that little splash of colour on Jay’s cheek tells as much of a story as the smile on Bruce’s lips. I’m also enamoured with the combination of colour and texture on Jason’s coat. And the height difference. The height difference.
Then you made it snow. I can’t tell you how long I just stared at it, thinking about what they might be murmuring back and forth to each other. Just spending time in their moment, listening to the silence that comes with snowfall.
I…would you mind if I wrote something to this? Would you be ok if this made an appearance in 82? I’m incredibly inspired by it.
