There’s a lot of people thinking this whole DC thing is a REBOOT. Changing costumes, and motives [read: WonderGirl as a thief…?] do not a retcon make, right? Sure, Red Robin looks a bit like a Vegas strip act [oh, bay-bee], but he’s still going to be Tim Drake, right? Ambiguously involved with Conner? Awkward around women? Great kisser, but married to his work? [I’m not getting wound up by the lateset issue of his book. Really, I’m not. On the outside, anyway.]
And yeah, Dick and Damian [and the fingerstripes! good gods! The FINGERSTRIPES!!] are no more, but he’ll still be Dick Grasyon, right? Right DC?
I guess my only worry is how far are they going to go? Are they going to make Tim a womanizer? Do they plan on gunking up Damian’s carefully crafted nuances by pairing him with his father? Will Dick become…emo…?
And thinking about it…will there be alternate sexualities/genders revealed? You want to relaunch for a more “modern” world, right?

Tim’s back hit the door of his bedroom, slamming it shut; the air left his lungs in a grunt. Wrapping his arms, encircling his boyfriend’s neck, he jumped, linking his legs around the clone’s thick waist. Conner laughed against his mouth.
“Shut up,” Tim demanded. He kissed him again, tasting sugar and sweets and beer. “I can’t believe you did that. Over an hour, Conner, you ba—“
Silenced with a deeper kiss, Tim relented, his hands moving appreciatively over Conner’s shoulders and down his strong back. His breath hitched as his boyfriend’s mouth traveled wetly down his jaw toward his neck.
“God, Conner,” he groaned, running the fingers of his right hand up through the other man’s short hair, holding him against his throat. “Please…you can’t keep teasing me like this…”
A grunt, heaving cries
dissipate, his shaft glistens
as I watch Kon cum.

“And when was that again?” Nightwing asked around a mouthful of cereal. He crunched loudly, adding more to the two inches of milk in the bottom of the bowl from the box at his elbow.
“Two days ago,” Kon replied, running a hand through his hair. He leaned against the table, intently watching the man demolish his breakfast.
The older vigilante arched a brow, swallowing. “It took you this long to find me? You could have just paged me over the Titan line.”
The clone shrugged. “Yeah.”
“But that would have been cheating,” Nightwing finished. His spoon tipped toward the bowl, clinking against the ceramic. “You’re really serious about this?”
“Would I be here if I wasn’t?” Kon asked. Groaning, he sat back in his chair. “I don’t know what it is—I just can’t stop thinking about him. Do you think I wanted to want my best friend? You think that was on my list of things to do? Because I don’t. I think it’s crazy. Messed up.”
Nightwing chuckled.
“What?”
He gestured with his spoon. “Well…you pretty much just described love.”
Superboy’s face contorted, caught somewhere in the spectrum between shock and disgust.
“I’m not in love with Robin.”
“You just want to date him,” Nightwing said flatly.
“Yeah. Sure.”
The man snorted. “Nice distinction.”

Whenever I’m in a funk, I turn to Pandora radio and flip to one of my stations. Eventually, something always comes on to inspire me that allows me to work through truly persistent writer’s block. This time it was ‘Into the West’ by Annie Lennox.
It’s totally cool. Just rip my heart out. Wasn’t using it, anyway.
I am fully aware that this is sad, slightly dramatic and a little over the top, but I apparently needed this kind of catharsis. I’m not convinced I wasn’t temporarily possessed, but we’ll pretend it was intentional. I also think this may be a prologue to something longer. But not an Earth I frigging swear it.
As I’m digging back into this Earth with both hands, I wanted to post a masterlist, both for my own reference and for my readers. While it was written slightly out of sequence, this is the order in which it is best read.
